Abusing 6 Children For 6 Years In Ireland Could Give 7 Years Of Imprisonment. How Lucky Is It To Be A Woman?
There isn’t anything more disgraceful than a mother incesting and sexually assaulting her own children. still this lady who ruined the lives of 6 children for 6 years gets only 7 years of imprisonment. Why should the judge be lenient towards a woman when crime committed to this degree is horrific and disgusting in any society.

The judge wasn’t being lenient. This is the first case brought before the court of maternal incest in Ireland. The only law that is applicable is from 1908 and that was the severest penalty back then. A life sentence could have been imposed if the more recent law which dealt with paternal incest wasn’t gender specific.

There should be no discrimination what-so-ever especially when crimes have been committed against children, a monster, is a monster, is a monster, it makes no difference who-or-what they are, they should all be locked up for a very long time, 7 years does not seem long enough.

Why were they so forgiving with her? A person entrusted with the care of children that abuses them should be punished will all of the severity of the law.

Her being a woman has nothing to do with it - look at all the men who commit similar crimes and get similar sentences. And of course she is obviously mentally ill. And the judge is probably just giving her the maximum term he can - it’s the politicians who decide how long max. and min. prison sentences are for each crime, not the judges.
But I agree, the laws should be changed so people like this (and, thinking about it, for almost every other crime) spend a lot lot longer in jail.

Women are always treated far easier and given far lighter sentences than men especially for sex offences and the fact is there are far more women convicted of sexual offences than men every year. the majority are always given suspended sentences when the Male equivalent are always given custodial sentences.
if a man committed the exact same type of crime he would be sentenced to a minimum of 12 years. so much for equal rights.

TRUE ! If a man so much as looked at a picture of a person under 18 they would be dubbed “a dirty old Paedo” for life and not be able to work anymore in any field (even with adults). There are definitely double standards based around outdated notions of women being “the caring sex” and not doing those sorts of things. Well, look at Myra Hindley and Rose West to name but 2 in fairly modern times !!
