Does Alcatraz Need A Donald Trump Make Over?

This blited eyesore, not fit for dragons, ghosts or anything else, sitting out there on a beautiful island like a monstrous albatrous around the neck of Calif. taxpayers just waiting for a Donald Trump to blow it up and put a casino amuzement park out there with free round trip ferry rides out of Oakland and Valleo, whoodeedoo. Calif. would be debt. free. LOLLOL! Where are you Donald? I intensely dislike that hugh dump.
There could be something beautiful out there, what a view. Sorry seniors Iam just venting. Oh, I get so mad sometimes!

Alcatraz holds such historical note that I would hate to see it replaced or developed by one of Trump’s projects. ..not to mention it is home to a lot of flora and fauna and animal life…better it continue as a ‘Park’ IMHO
“In 1993, the National Park Service published a plan entitled Alcatraz Development Concept and Environmental Assessment. This plan, approved in 1980, doubled the amount of Alcatraz accessible to the public to enable visitors to enjoy its scenery and bird, marine, and animal life, such as the California slender salamander.
Today American Indian groups, the International Indian Treaty Council, for example, hold ceremonies on the island. The most notable of these are on Columbus Day and Thanksgiving Day when they hold a “Sunrise Gathering”.
In 2006, the Park Service awarded the ferry contract to Hornblower Yachts ferry operator Alcatraz Cruises. Because Hornblower does not employ union labor, there have been protests for several months and several demonstrations with nearly 1,000 participants.”

Sounds like a good idea. Now try and get some degree of unanimity on this from the various pressure groups in the Bay area. Having served as one of the military representatives on the Trans-Bay Disaster Planning Council a quarter of a century ago, I can tell you the spirit of disputation has only gained strength since then. It’s the only place I know of, with the exception of central Athens in Greece, where three guys could be discussing politics and you would have four different opinions being expressed.

We would be better off to make into a resort.

Has someone missed the role it played in wars gone by and the true history it holds? It is not made to be a glitz to add to the glitz of the bay–it is meant to be shrouded in clouds much of the time and left as is for future generations to experience the ultimate final prison destination. Donald would exploit it file a bankruptcy and get a new young wife to take over the administration of the defunct mess.

It’s to foggy and windy most of the time to even bother with it.
I think they should tear it down, before it falls down, but they won’t. Of course they will spend millions of dollars on it, as it is a Historical place. What a waste of tax payers money that could be spend on other things more importatnt. I was born in SF and lived there for 22 years.

Given his limitless bank account he could really make it into a showplace. It could be fabulous if he would be willing to take it on and if the state of CA would sell it to him for that purpose.
    Talk about a view!

Yes Donald, I hugely respect the way his conducts his businesses, and the absolute ability he has for the finest details.l My children say I drive them mad because of that. but that is how great men like him, do business, and achieve success.,and it seems as if he is very fair to his staff. But expects the best from them. beautiful holiday resort would be the answer, but a Casino, no. Gambling has caused so much heartache in families, we don’t need any more. He could also, have a drug rehab there. Think I will write to him. It’s is big enough for both. Good question.

  8. daisymae Says:

It is a part of history and if I ever make it to California I would love to see the prison. I thought there was a charge for admission with proceeds going to keep up the property?

it needs a restoration as a landmark
