if you are on a diet, you need to be more clear on what kind. but any who, most people even the ones on diets need vitamins. you need to take a daily multivitamin, you need to eat protein items and coffee is not all that healthy. everyone drinks it but they don’t know that they are making their body dependant on it to stay awake and they are always caffeinated which is not good. you are not eating enough on your diet. if you do want to lose weight you need to do it one step at a time. not just stop all your bad eating habits altogether. ok? and if you are going to stop all the bad ones which is really hard to do all at once but not impossible, then more power to you but you need to eat a lot more of the good ones then you must not make the mistake of thinking the less calories i take in the better because your body will shut down in many ways. if you don’t have enough food which i think this is the case because most people have the same sleep pattern as you, you need to eat more, but more fruits and vegetables, fish, and nuts, load up. did you know that even if you eat 10 pounds of just fruits and vegetables you won’t gain weight? not even 1 ? the key is to also exercise if you want to lose weight. you don’t want to be skinny and saggy, and trust me just because you do a little weight training you won’t get all big and buff like men, it takes a lot of weight and time to get like that. that is what i think you need to do. eat a little more more bananas, and if you need a sugar rush don’t go for the caffeine, go for a small piece of chocolate, it will give you a happy feeling, your sweet tooth will be satisfied and the sugar will keep you going for a while.

First of all, yeah that was a stupid thing, staying up for a week straight! I guess sleeping can really vary from one person to the next, but my experience is that you recover relatively quickly (after a few days) when having been sleep deprived. So you shouldn’t still feel the effects of that week.
5-6 hours of sleep isn’t actually so little. But again, it depends on whether you have a lot of physical work or not.
My guess is that if you just get used to it and sleep consistently 5 or 6 hours everyday, preferably at the same time, you will function perfectly.
    Two more important points:
If you exercise daily or almost daily, you will find it much easier to function and get up in the morning and so on.
If you are on a diet which lacks proteine, vitamins, fibres, carbohydrates or some mineral, that can be a factor in your tiredness.

Your best bet is to get the same amount of sleep every night, and be on a schedule. It also helps to get exercise. Also, espresso has almost no calories, and no fat, so for a diet your best bet is a cafe americano (2 shots espresso with hot water). I think they’re good.
For me it really helps to not take naps, but then again 7 hours is pretty much perfect for me. It also really helps to not plan on being tired, and get up in the morning knowing that you’ll be energized and good to go all day.

Most adults get less than 8 hrs each night 6-7 hours is about average…
The only people i have heard of staying up for a week straight were on Meth.
If you are tired your diet may be to limiting. Make sure you are getting enough food/calories.

I got about 6 hrs sleep ever nite and thankfully that’s enough for me. If you are suffering from persistant lethargic, it could be something serious like diabetes. See doctor.
    Otherwise, chew gum.
