Why Do People Consider 7 To Be Lucky And 13 To Be Unlucky ?
Seven is the number of Heaven, home of God. The ancients imagined that the heavens were divided into seven layers : Sun, Moon, and the five visible planets Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn. The seven days of the week are based on these.
So seven=heaven=holy=lucky.
Unlucky 13 is based on a passage from the Bible. The 13th seat at the Last Supper belonged to Judas the Betrayer of Christ. So 13 came to be regarded as an inauspicious number.
There may have also been an ancient Greek influence, since their 13th major god was Hades king of the dead (the other 12 were the gods of heaven). They also had a 13th leap month which was interposed into the calendar every few years in mid winter and which was regarded as sacred to the dead, so somewhat unlucky in superstition.

There are a lot of reasons for 13 being considered unlucky.
The 13th guest of the last supper was Judas.
On Friday the 13th, the Knights Templar where rounded up and arrested and tortured.
In Norse Mythology there is a similar story to the last supper but Loki is the 13th guest.
The number 7 is referenced in the bible a lot as a power and protective number.
Greeks considered it the ‘perfect number’.
There’s a lot of info out there on both numbers.

Judus was the 13th Disciple the one that betrayed God.
God Created the Heavens in 7 day and on the 7th day he rested making it a Great number also 7 represents completion.

Over the years people just believe they are unlucky and lucky even though luck is what you believe it is. Such as if you think of all the bad things that happened and non of the good than you will trick yourself into believing that you have bad luck.

7 is lucky because it’s the most likely in dice and 13 is unlucky because m is the thirteenth letter of the alphabet and it used to symbolize marijuana so people said it was bad luck hiding what it really meant

not sure about the seven,but 13 is supposed to be unlucky because that is the number of witches in a coven, but i think it might go back to even deeper origins
