What Bond Movies Am I Actually Going To Enjoy?
Tuesday, January 12th, 2010GoldenEye was the first Bond movie I ever saw, and I still think it’s the best and will argue that it’s the best convincingly five minutes longer than anyone would ever want to hear me. I didn’t have any easy time liking any since the Goldeneye except the new Casino Royale.
Sorry seasoned Bond lovers, but I went and watched Dr. No and hated it. Quarrel got unconvincingly burned alive but what was clearly not a dragon, but a poorly made parade-car that shot fire out of the front. James Bond is smart enough to know that. Not to rain too hard on your nostalgia parade, let’s just say it didn’t work for me. I actually ended up liking a View to a Kill, which was 70% because of Chris Walken.
I know, I should have watched all the Bond films by now, and the failure to do so represents a threat of man-card confiscation. But it’s not totally my fault. I hate editted-for-TV movies. So forgiving that, what are some solid Bond movies I might like?
